About the Project

Aboagye Danquah, a Ghanaian immigrant and former medical doctor, now works as a food delivery courier in Canada. One night, an unusual order leads him to an abandoned house. There, he meets Emily, a terminally ill woman with no family left to call her own. But she isn’t hungry; at least, not for food. She longs for something deeper: a human presence in her final hours. She makes a request that shakes him to his core; stay with her until the very end.

This project is funded by the City of Toronto through Toronto Arts Council, produced in collaboration with Jahmecca Media Group.

IMPACT STATEMENT

ABOAGYE aims to create conversations around mental health, loneliness, and the immigrant experience, particularly how compassion can bridge divides of culture, class, and circumstance. It invites audiences to look closer at the invisible lives around them and consider how small acts of kindness can change the course of someone’s story.

Through partnerships with community and mental health organisations, Aboagye seeks to be more than a film; it aspires to be a tool for dialogue, healing, and understanding.
